WADA IRCA Centre, Lunglei on 15th August 2026

The WADA IRCA Centre, Lunglei, observed India’s 80th Independence Day on 15th
August 2026 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The programme commenced with the
hoisting of the National Flag at the Centre, followed by a gathering of residents and staff to
commemorate the significance of Independence Day.
At 1:30 PM, a Special Gram Sabha/assembly was conducted, during which the residents
and staff participated together in singing the National Song, “Vande Mataram.” The
programme fostered a sense of patriotism, unity, and responsibility among all participants.
The programme concluded with an awareness session focusing on India’s freedom
movement and the importance of substance abuse prevention. The session highlighted the
sacrifices made by freedom fighters and encouraged the residents to lead healthy, responsible,
and substance-free lives.
The celebration was a meaningful occasion that combined national pride with awareness
and social responsibility, reinforcing the commitment of WADA IRCA Centre, Lunglei, towards
the well-being and rehabilitation of its resident
